Super Soft Skin

Soft skin that is velvety smooth to the touch is coveted by all. No one ever wants to have or touch rough, dry skin. Many people may not give the softness of their skin a second thought but once you take care of your biggest organ and shower it with attention you will see how your skin will glow, tighten and radiate like it use to... way back when.

A good place to start is an excellent moisturizing bar soap or shower gel. I personally use Oil of Olay or Dove. They are the absolute best for gently cleansing and moisturizing dry skin. Next an excellent moisturizer is usually the very best tool for keeping the skin nice and soft. There are so many quality lotions to use so depending on your skin type you will have many options to narrow down and choose from. Again, I usually use Oil of Olay, Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works. I know these are major brands but they just work for me. If a quality moisturizer is used daily wtihin 5 minutes of showering (this is done while the skin is still damp so the lotion can lock in the moisture) you skin should be very soft to the touch. But... this article is not aiming to get you very soft skin.

This article is going to show you how to get Super Soft Skin! By adding this one simple tip you can get baby soft skin! Its call exfoliation. Or a body scrub. With in one use of doing a body scrub you instantly feel like silk. If you do a body scrub once per week with in a month you feel like your living in new skin (trust me I do them all the time). When you exfoliate all the rough, dry, dead surface skin you reveal much healthier, newer, softer skin. Talk about taking off some years! You will instantly be showing off younger skin! I have people tell me all the time how beautiful my skin looks; how soft my skin is. When I wear skirts or shorts most people think Im wearing sheer nylons when all Ive done are homemade body scrubs.

There are a lot of different types of body scrubs that you can make at home. They can range from very simple to moderately challenging (and by challenging I mean how likely it is that you will already have the necissary ingredients in your home). Stay tuned to get new tips, tricks, recipes and secrets.

Easy Homemade Body Scrubs

So previously I wrote about how to obtain Super Soft Skin with moisturizing cleansers, excellent lotions and then finally exfoliators aka body scrubs. They are simple to make and easy to use. There are several different types to try but I always stick with my tried and true, homemade honey and grit body scrub.

The homemade honey and grit body scrub is really easy to make and does such an excellent job at removing rough dead skin. Honey acts as a great humectant and is a wonderful moisturizer as well as skin brightener (it can gradually even out the skin tone and can even lighten the hair). It also has significant antibacterial properties as well. So in general honey as been used for a plethora of different beauty regimes. Now the grits... they serve as the actual exfoliator. The rough gritty texture is great for buffing and polishing the skin.

Homemade Honey and Grit Body Scrub

1/4 cup honey

3/4 cup grits

1 small bowl and spoon for stirring

First pour 1/4 cup honey in a small bowl. Next pour grits on top of honey (its much neater to mix in this order). Mix until you have a dry paste. Bring mixture in the shower with you. Let yourself get completely wet for a couple of minutes then scrub away!

You can use your homemade honey and grit body scrub virtually anywhere on your body (but be kind around your face, eyes and below the belt sensitive areas). I personally use it everywhere; I feel like I just got an expensive spa treatment when I get out of the shower. You wont be able to stop touching yourself, lol, no pun intended!

I have to add just a few words of warning as I don't want anyone to be surprised by anything. First this scrub is pretty abrasive; you can control how hard you scrub yourself but the grits are definitely rough. If you have sensitive or broken skin then I wouldn't recommend using this scrub. If you do have sensitive skin and you still would like to exfoliate then I would suggest that you try substituting the grits with cornmeal. The cornmeal does an excellent job of exfoliating and its not as nearly as harsh as the grits. Second, this scrub can get super messy in the shower. It kinda gets everywhere. I forgot to tell a friend this once and she used the scrub (and loved it) but commented how messy it was. Dont say I didn't warn you. Just make sure you rinse the shower walls and tub really, really well. Last, do not try and "keep" the body scrub in the shower or the fridge. It's food. I will go bad. Lol. Just make enough for one use and discard any left over. Its best to just make a new batch when you want to do another scrub.

With all this being said I hope you give the Homemade Honey and Grit body scrub a try; even if you make a small batch and only use it on your hands. Just one time is all it will take to convince and win you over. Your new smooth skin will sell you on the scrub. Stay tuned for more tips, tricks, recipes and secrets.

Easy Homemade Lip Scrub

This lip scrub is very simple and easy to make just like the homemade body scrubs. It is a nice sweet treat for the lips. This is a fun sugary way to exfoliate your lips for absurdly smooth pucker up. Use this treat once a week and you will be rid of dry flakey broken lips.

Now there are a couple of different variations of this scrub. Since they are both very simple recipies I will list them both.

Homemade Sugar and Honey Lip scrub

1/2 teaspoon honey

1/2 teaspoon sugar

small cup or just use a spoon

You can use a small cup or just use a spoon to hold the ingredients with. Wash your hands and use your index finger to mix together the sugar and honey until you have a thick paste. Then use the same finger to apply the sugary sweet paste to your lips and scrub (gently, for the lips are made of delicate tissue). This only takes about a total of 5 minutes to make and apply. Clean up is easy. All you have to do is lick you lips!

Homemade Sugar and Vasoline Lip Scrub

1/2 teaspoon of Sugar

1/2 teaspoon of Vasoline

Follow the same directions for the Homemade Sugar and Honey Lip Scrub. Only dont lick the paste off your lips! Lol. Well I guess you could and it wont hurt you but It probably wont taste as yummy as the sugar and honey. Stay tuned for more tips, tricks, recipies and secrets.

I love exfoliating; especially my face! Have you ever tried Mary Kay Cosmetics microdermabrasion? I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I've been running off samples, and will be so sad when they run out because it does wonders for your skin.

Thanks for the article! Keep up the writing.
